The Facepalming Journal Launched JUNE 2013!

WHAT IS A FACEPALM?

A FACEPALM (sometimes also face-palm or face palm) is the physical gesture of placing one's hand flat across one's face or lowering one's face into one's hand or hands. The gesture is found in many cultures as a display of frustration, disappointment, embarrassment, shock, surprise or just plain sarcasm.

The purpose of this site is to feature those little annoying things that bother people in their daily lives. The small obstacles that make life difficult, that nobody really cares enough about to make a big deal of. They are generally shrugged off with stupid comments like "That's life", or "It is what it is".   You know -- the things that make you facepalm.

The Facepalming Journal is a blog that will chronicle these "facepalming events". Or at least, the facepalming events that have happened to me, in particular. Done in comic style, a new comic will be uploaded every other week or so featuring a facepalm moment that I have experienced. In addition, I've decided to draw all the webcomics digitally on my mobile phone. You heard that right! All the art is drawn on a cellphone screen!

I hope you enjoy the comics.

WHO IS LEFTY LINAC?

Lefty Linac is my pseudonym. Since the stories chronicled here are of a personal nature, I've decided to refer to myself & everyone featured in my comics with alternate names. Kind of fitting, really, since in real life I give everyone a nickname anyways. I rename my kids at random all the time.

If you're not sure what a Linac is, click linac & you'll get a clue to what I do for a day job. Currently, I live in a square box of a house on a triangle lot, at the top of the hill across from the park. I'm married to Lovey & we have 4 beautiful children; Froggie, Snuggles, Trouble & the Kid.
I enjoy comics & graphic novels, am a huge Superhero & JRR Tolkien fan, and sport 2 tattoos; a Superman shield & a Canadian flag. My favorite thing to do in summer after spending time swimming is to put my feet up on the patio with a pint of ice-cold beer while the kids run around all day in the backyard like maniacs.
